The Child and Youth Care Foundations Course is being taught by our very own Britta Jerdee, and upcoming topics will include: building and supporting empowering relationships, effective communication techniques like "I" messages, active listening and reframing, trauma informed care, emotional first aid, and human growth and development.

Britta's journey to youth work. During Britta's time at The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, a spark of passion for child and youth care was ignited when she volunteered as a mentor for an after-school leadership program. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, she became a Teen Leadership Coordinator and has since held many positions including; Summer Camp Instructor, After School Specialist, Lead Teacher, and more.  She now has a dynamic role at Neu-Life focused on evidence-based curriculum and asset building of staff, site programs, and operations.
