You might remember last summer when the Green Bay Packers Give Back fund, GMF and individual donors invested in Neu-Media Studio, a new program at YWIC to bridge the "covid gap" and help provide laptops and other visual media technology to help us stay conneced to Neu-Life youth. At that time, we were dreaming of the next phase of the program where youth would have opportunities in community activism, organizing and social justice issues while learning to powerfully use video and new media production skills.
We're proud to share with you today that the next phase is no longer a dream! In honor of Black History Month, youth at YWIC interviewed young Black leaders in Milwaukee.
Support this program! Neu-Media Studio was born of an idea to equip our staff and youth with professional recording gear, mics, cameras, control station, green-screen backdrops and studio lighting, to create a place where staff can pre-record or live broadcast virtual programming such as Farmfork, LifeSkills, Making Proud Choices, and Virtual TOP.
